SQWAD secures the latest issue on Wax Motif’s Divided Souls with “Never Stop.”
Based out of France, SQWAD is the production pair powered by Etienne and Antoine, who have been causing quite the stir on the house circuit. They are now taking the honors of being the first external artist to release on Wax Motif’s burgeoning Divided Souls imprint, after a string of dancefloor-ripping releases from the label-boss himself. Coming in strong with the sixth issue, SQWAD dishes out a low-slung rhythm that takes the shape of their newest single, “Never Stop.” Marked by choppy vocal loops that hit the marks between whirring one-shots, pulsating basslines, buzzing flourishes, and a tight-knit groove, the latest from the French duo does not disappoint in the slightest.
Known for hovering in the sweet spot splitting bass house and tech house, SQWAD has been carving out a corner for themselves in the four-on-the-floor realm with releases locked for a whole host of camps, including Mad Decent, Monstercat, Premiere Classe and UKF. More recently, they made their first appearance on the Insomniac Music Group via a bubbly collab alongside Badjokes, “Disco Light,” which came out on the third installment of IN / ROTATION’s ongoing ‘Rotate’ compilation. At the rate they are currently moving, it’s clear the name SQWAD will continue to be on the top of minds of house music fans the world over.
