UK artist Stevie Appleton brings a unique sound; an impeccable combination of a singer-songwriter with a talent for producing electronic music.

His new single ‘Supposed To Do’ is a perfect example of this; a three-minute pop song that strikes a nice bridge between pure, organic music and electronic effects. “Supposed To Do” shows that this young musician is one to keep an eye on in 2018.

Although his music is influenced by songwriting legends as Fleetwood Mac and Jeff Buckley did not stop this Stevie to write the last few years and producing for dance label Spinnin ‘Records.

Stevie explains: “I turned up to a writing camp in Holland with my guitar not knowing what to expect and just had the most incredible experience.”. He herr inert himself: “I went in with a singer-songwriter approach and it was brilliant how that was produced into a completely different genre, it was actually a child of a buzz”.

By the end of the week, Stevie had built up a good relationship with everyone and they became very enthusiastic about his voice and ideas, it was asked whether he wanted to be a full-time writer and offered him a deal.

In a similar story with the Ministry of Sound and British indie band London Grammar Stevie became the first non-dance artist on a dance label. And after Spinnin ‘was acquired in September last year by the prestigious major label Warner Bros. Records, the ball rolled on – and Stevie ended on Warner’s radar. New single ‘Supposed To Do’ was decisive, a propulsive, bass-driven groove, written on a vintage drum break. Warner was so fond of this pop song that they decided to release it himself.

“Because ‘Supposed To Do’ spans so many genres, it could be labeled as a singer songwriter, it touches on soul, it could be labeled as dance,” Stevie explained. “This happened by accident I’ve always leg intocreating a fusion between different genres, so I just thought -. Why not I’m doing something that I love?”.

And best of this whole story is that it sounds like something he was really “Supposed to do ‘!
