Sub Focus has returned with brand new track ‘Nobody Knows’, which received its exclusive worldwide first play from Friction on his Radio 1 show on Monday night. Listen here. The track shows Sub Focus’s skill for blending his ear for melody with hard and fast beats, influenced by his early years discovering DnB / Jungle in the 90’s. Euphoric piano chords, male vocals and cascades of bleeping synths are underpinned by waves of hard hitting drums and rumbling sub-bass.
From handing an underground jungle demo to Andy C in a club back in 2003, to multiple top UK 10 singles thanks to heavy support from the likes of Annie Mac, Mistajam, Zane Lowe and Friction – Sub Focus aka Nick Douwma has maintained a high profile for the last 10 years. With his past two albums reflecting his ever evolving sound yet still resonating at radio, festivals, clubs and the charts, he is getting back to his club roots with this next batch of material before his third album to be released via Virgin EMI in 2017.
The release comes just ahead of an exciting headline show at London’s Brixton Academy for famed promoters Together, with whom Nick holds a residency at Amnesia Ibiza. He has spent many years as an international headliner, playing major events across the US, Australia and Asia as well as in Europe and the UK, with highlights including fabric London, Glastonbury, Ultra Japan and Coachella.
