Emerging artist and respected activist SYNEAD is releasing “Lost In The Wild” via Noon Pacific, the first community-driven record label, with distribution from Stem, a startup helping collaborators manage royalties that has helped artists like Anna Wise and Frank Ocean release music.
“Lost In The Wild” represents a grittier incantation of Synead’s music. A stunning cut of fierce, dancefloor-ready R&B, the track is produced by NYC-based artist Richie Quake alongside Synead’s executive producer Matt FX.
Earlier this year, Synead released her debut single “Tropicao,” with production credit shared by Cabo Blanco and Broad City music supervisor Matt FX, in spring of 2017. The single and subsequent music video was met with thriving critical praise and support from a myriad of international media outlets including Apple Music’s Ebro Darden on Beats 1, London’s BBC Radio 1, Australia’s Purple Sneakers, Tokyo outfit Dance Works, and esteemed publications including V Magazine, Teen Vogue, Nylon, and Solange’s Saint Heron. Featured on numerous Summer of 2017 playlists on Spotify, the song was embraced by curators from Okayplayer to in-store music selectors at retail chains such as H&M around the world.
Matt has been working with Synead for some time — the pair garnered some of their first critical acclaim in a 2015 review in Clash Magazine that referred to their collaboration on the Scooter Island EP as “a gloriously sunny set of electronica-infused, African-inflected pop.”
Embarking on the next chapter of her artistic debut, Synead is back in the spotlight with “Lost In The Wild,” with potential plans for a third release in the not-so-distant future…
