EP showcases DJ’s diverse sound, love of collaboration.
Los Angeles based DJ TEFFLER continues his flurry of activity with not one, but two new remixes of his hit collaboration with D.A.N.E., “Never Let Me Go.”
The “Never Let Me Go” Remix EP showcases the single’s versatility by taking the song in two vastly different directions. The first version is a UK Dub Mix, clearly inspired by the interactions TEFFLER had with DJs from across the pond during his recent European tour. The up-tempo Dub Mix swells and grooves with a snappy drum backbone and an infectious piano riff that is sure to elicit smiles, inviting listeners to leave their inhibitions behind and get on the dance floor.
In contrast, the ATARAX Remix of “Never Let Me Go” has a decidedly more laid-back feel, courtesy of a future bass core from 18-year old Kansas City DJ ATARAX. The promising young DJ made the most of his shot on this collaboration, combining big synth refrains with some trippy, M83-inspired fills to create a vibe that Is somewhere right in the sweet spot between chill and dance.
“It would be a great walk-in track to introduce a character in a movie,” says TEFFLER of the collaboration. “ATARAX has skills, no doubt about it. It was cool to let him take the track and do something new with it. That’s one of the joys of this style of music. When you’re hanging out with a good DJ, you never hear the same song twice – even if it’s the same song.”
