Theo Kottis delivers one of his strongest releases to date – the Italo and synth-infused ‘Clear’ (out 22 November on Skint) – the perfect follow-up to his huge summer anthems, ’Turning Around’ and ‘Want Me Back’.

With ‘Clear’, Theo Kottis ends 2019 on a high, following a sample clearance issue which prevented ‘Want Me Back’ from receiving an official release. Out of this frustration, Theo Kottis went back into the studio and focused on writing an original piece of music that was ‘clear’ of samples. The end result is a shimmering fusion of Italo disco and ‘80s synth-pop, complete with a euphoric vocal.

Theo Kottis’s previous two releases on Skint, ‘Turning Around’ and ‘Want Me Back’, both received widespread acclaim, including Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’ plus heavy festival and club play from DJs including Gerd Janson, Job Jobse, Detroit Swindle, Dan Shake, Adam Port, The Black Madonna, Horse Meat Disco, Panthera Krause, MistaJam, Monki, Danny Howard, Folamour, Jacques Renault, and Ryan Elliott.

Theo Kottis has established himself as one of the UK’s most versatile artists. Kottis started as a promoter in Edinburgh whilst still in his late teens, before subsequently turning to DJing. He has since held down residencies at Glasgow’s Sub Club and FLY Club at Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire. The shining star amongst his work is his ‘Beautiful Strangers’ concept. Kottis has successfully built a brand from this, curating his own ‘Beautiful Strangers’ festival alongside Fly Open Air.
