Tom & Collins and Hollaphonic are sweetening the pot with their debut appearance on Insomniac Records, a gooey vocal-led single aptly titled “Honey.”

Mexico City’s Tom & Collins has proven they know how to kick out floor-filling house tracks right up there with the best of them. They’ve found themselves in good company with Hollaphonic, the Dubai-based two-man operation that shares the same gift for polished, crowd-pleasing productions. Working in tandem on their first collaboration together, this mighty pairing sees them drizzling the dancefloor with one of the most memorable tracks of the year.

“Honey” pulls the best pieces from both parties involved. Swirling around a brooding topline, the track mixes in viscous vocal croons in optimal increments as its sultry bounce guides things along.

The topic at hand is a justifiably sore subject for its protagonist, being forced to bid farewell to an incompetent lover; and yet the song itself somehow manages to attract infinitely more than it repels. Those bittersweet feelings are carried out to perfection, with each sashaying percussive stroke and elastic low-end hit causing the blood sugar to spike almost every step of the way.

Tom & Collins share their thoughts on the single: “We were stoked about working with Hollaphonic and when we heard this topline, we immediately felt the connection with the lyrics and melody. We are very excited to have our debut on Insomniac with this bass-driven dance banger… we feel it has the right balance between club and an emotional track.”

Hollaphonic weighs in from their vantage point, as well: “We came across the vocal from a UK artist called Julia Church, it grabbed us immediately; it was as haunting as it was energetic and evocative. The key was finding a beat that worked and percussion that could lead the way, we cracked a sound but when we linked with Tom & Collins, they brought a new dimension, stripping it back and giving it this danceable groove that we hope keeps the floors alive and the crowd moving. Can’t wait for everyone to hear what we have created together— a true collaborative piece that speaks to both our styles and fanbase.

Holding onto one of the most widely recognized house projects that Mexico has to offer, Tom & Collins are existing in their element as the cultural explosion of Latin dance music starts to catch up with the very sound that courses through their veins.

Pushing their culture forward to a global audience of house and tech enthusiasts, the duo paved the way with their percussive gem “Sombrerito” single alongside Cubiafrica in 2020. Nearly half a year later, and they kept that same energy on their follow-up effort together on the critically acclaimed “Corosito,” which became the catalyst for a trend that has followed them onto world-class stages such as EDC Mexico and beyond.

Hailing from Dubai, Olly Wood and Greg Stainer are two British producers that have made themselves at home on charts across the globe under the guise of Hollaphonic. Winning over the hearts and minds of house music lovers from Latin America all the way over to Asia, the seeds of their house and tech sound have scattered far beyond the reaches of the Arabian desert.

Insomniac’s own IN / ROTATION imprint has been championing them since they came in swinging with their low-slung cut “Together,” one of the standout offerings from the label’s ‘Rotate Vol. 4’ compilation album. They looped back around in a big way the subsequent year, stepping in with their single “Hold On,” a moody piano-driven jam with a vocal whose shine hasn’t diminished in the slightest.

With “Honey,” Tom & Collins and Hollaphonic come together to create a wildly intoxicating tech house collab, packing the level of pleasure one might only expect from a sugar rush.

Tom & Collins and Hollaphonic’s new single “Honey” is available on all platforms via Insomniac Records.
