Internationally renowned duo Tom & Collins reconnects with South American rhythmic powerhouse Cumbiafrica on their new single “Se Va,” arriving courtesy of Insomniac Records.
Marking their third release alongside one another, “Se Va” is a high-spirited roller that completes a house music hat-trick between the mighty talents of Tom & Collins and Cumbiafrica.
Blending elements of Afro-Latin and tech house into pure dancefloor perfection, their latest creation is everything we’ve come to expect from this culturally rich coupling. The track prances around at an invigorating pace, as Cumbiafrica’s sublime Spanish vocals and tribal cadence draws parallels with the oral tradition of Caribbean folklore.
A symphony of choral harmonies and colorful brass melodies underline the Afro-Latin nature of the groove, which pulls at the appendages through its vivacious drum patterns, marimba accents, filtered bongo hits, swinging horns, and chunky basslines.

“‘Se Va’ is a song with a lot of Afro-Latin strength,” adds Cumbiafrica. “From the production, Tom & Collins managed to transcribe this feeling from the beats. The song is about a woman who walks through different towns in the Caribbean in a continuous farewell.”
