Bringing a super team together for this one, Ty Dolla $ign just dropped “Ego Death”, a super collaboration with Skrillex, Kanye West, and FKA twigs.
The track has an electro-hop feel and sees Ty, West, and Twigs go at it in individual verses blended together with the groovy beats.
Just weeks ago, Ty, Skrillex, Virtual Riot, and Ant Clemons came together for a tribute track called “You See It.” The track was a direct response in support to the Black Lives Matter protests rampantly going on around the United States and spreading further in the world as well. West just released another record “Wash Us In The Blood” yesterday and returns on the track to bash the Grammys. Super Bowl and what he calls halfway movements among more.
In the final verse of the track, Twigs makes her presence felt with a powerful finale.
Dolla $ign decided to partner with Triller on “Ego Death” to create a unique 9D experience for the listener. The first-ever of its kind experience sees effects such as reverb come into play allowing the music to give the sensation that it’s moving around in the headphones.
Speaking about the track and his upcoming album in a statement, Ty said, “‘Ego Death’ is a very special record. It’s always an honour working with my brother ‘Ye. He’s a genius and we make incredible records every single time we link up. Skrillex and Twigs came in and blessed us with the magic that only they can put on the record. I played it once at a house party and everyone went crazy. A clip leaked online and shit but that’s all good. I just had to find the right time to put it out, so I’m excited that it’s finally THAT TIME! My new album is done and it’s coming very soon. Shout to my fans for being patient while I made sure it was perfect, it’s worth the wait…it’s my best work yet. I can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”
Ty Dolla $ign’s last full-length release ‘Beach House 3’ came in 2017 and the deluxe edition followed in 2018. As the statement reveals though, it won’t be much longer till his third studio album finally gets released.
