Having been a fan of dance music and Armin van Buuren since 2003, I was inspired to start my own electronic music publication with a very simple, and clear goal - to share electronic music with old, and new fans alike. Working alongside a great team has made me keep that goal alive, and build on it.

UMEK Unveils, ‘I Just Can’t Believe’ Featuring Harry Romero

1605 drops a new techno release from label owner UMEK and along with a solo production, the two track EP also features a collaboration with Harry Romero.

Harry Romero formally known as Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero is a house music producer from New York and he is known for releasing tracks on labels such as Defected and Crosstown Rebels. In 2001 he released a track on Paul Oakenfold’s Planet Perfecto called “I Want Out (I Can’t Believe)”, which is a classic famed for its distinctive vocal.

UMEK has reworked “I Want Out (I Can’t Believe)” into a techno masterpiece with modern production and a peak time energy. The new version titled “I Just Can’t Believe” opens with the driving energy of the pulsating bassline that underpins thrashing high-end percussion and the vocal taken from Harry Romero’s classic. It builds towards the suspenseful breakdown section that drops the energy before the track lifts up a gear when the drums return to prominence.

Next on the release, “Moving Synthetics” is a contrasting blend of modern techno production and old-school jungle, as the breakdown section has a heavy breakbeat and thickset bassline inspired by jungle/hardcore. It’s a high velocity track that takes no prisoners with the way it unleashes energy.

The release has already picked up DJ support by people ranging from Tiger Stripes to Ramiro Lopez, and you can buy a copy HERE
