Dutch duo Yellow Claw join forces with Indonesia’s Weird Genius on new single ‘Lonely’ featuring Indonesian pop icon Novia Bachmid.

Releasing on Barong Family today, this powerhouse combo of talent is ready to dominate the airwaves yet again.

Weird Genius & Yellow Claw first collaborated on “Hush” (ft. Reikko) which attained global support across streaming, radio, press – collecting more than 30 million hits online and a nomination at the 2021 AMI Awards for Best Dance Release. Now their sophomore collaboration ‘Lonley’ is here featuring more upbeat production blended with Novia Bachmid’s powerful and crisp vocals.

“Lonely” is an anthem for anyone with the desire to get off the grid, clear their mind and escape. Sometimes we all need to be alone, while we might not be able to literally just “get a one-way ticket” and jet off somewhere without a plan as the lyrics tell us. A deeper message is we sometimes benefit from taking a break from pretending to be “OK” and clouding our self worth based on the edited, filtered versions we see on social media of people living their best lives – as we know not all of them are as they seem.

Yellow Claw needs no introduction as they are undoubtedly one of dance music’s most prominent duos. With 4 Albums to their name, among them global hit’s such as ‘DJ Turn It Up’, ‘Till It Hurts’ and ‘Love & War’.

The group’s eclectic discography reads like a who’s who of the music industry. Recently however they have been busier than ever. They launched an underground side project titled €UROTRA$H, completed a month-long US Tour, made their UK debut at London’s infamous Ministry Of Sound and released a hard hitting EP ‘The Black Delorean”.

Collaborating on the track is Indonesian trio Weird Genius who made their breakthrough following the release of ‘Lathi’ a single which broke numerous national records, reached #2 on the Spotify Global Viral Charts and collected more than 200 million plays online.

The new-comers have clocked up an impressive catalog since and are set to make their International debut at Tomorrowland on the Barong Family stage. They have dropped releases with Tokyo Machine ft. Lights via Monstercat, penned a deal with the iconic Universal label Astralwerks, were enlisted to create an anthem for RIOT’s ‘Wild Rift’ titled ‘All In’ and officially remixed artists such as R3HAB, and fellow Indonesian global star and 88Rising artist Rich Brian.

Novia Bachmid meanwhile who lends her vocals to the track is one of Indonesia’s fastest rising pop-queen’s in Indonesia, she was a contestant in Indonesian Idol in 2020 in which she was one of the 10 Finalists.
