ZHU and Tinashe collaborate on the haunting new single “ONLY,” released today by Astralwerks.
The searing interplay between the two distinctive vocalists fuels a song that spans the spectrum from loneliness to connection, quiet to frenzy, darkness to light. Written and produced by both ZHU and Tinashe, “ONLY” is available for download/streaming.
Set against the backdrop of the global lockdown, the official music video for “ONLY” explores the connection between isolation and voyeurism, as viewers look in on ZHU and Tinashe, each alone in a downtown loft. The clip was directed by Jack Murgatroyd (Coldplay, Flume, ODESZA), who also helmed ZHU’s “Came For The Low” video.
Director Jack Murgatroyd says, “The video nods to the current moment, that ubiquitous feeling of uncertainty and uneasiness. This was our creative approach to exploring those emotions, our abstract way of trying to tap into our feelings of isolation and redundancy.”
