Avicii’s ex-girlfriend posts a heartbreaking tribute post his death; a church in Netherlands pays tribute in a very touching manner

About 3 days back, the EDM world lost one its biggest icons, Avicii.

Although his loss has got us all heartbroken, it has definitely hurt some people more than the others. One such person is Avicii’s ex-girlfriend Emily Goldberg. Emily was in a relationship with the Swedish superstar for about 2 years (2011-2013).

As a tribute to her former boyfriend, she uploaded some of their personal pictures on Instagram. Check it out below:

“Come on babe, don’t give up on us. Choose me, and I’ll show you love.” Those are lyrics from a song Tim wrote for me. I wish I could have lived up to them. For the two years we were together, he was my closest confidante, and my best friend. Now I can’t look at Bear without knowing I’ll never see his face again. I’m still collecting my thoughts and thank you for all your kind words and texts. Wake me up when it’s all over, because I don’t want it to be real ? #ripavicii #avicii @avicii

The last line from her post is from the song ‘Wake Me Up’, which smashed all dance/pop charts when it was released.

Emily also put up the screenshot of her WhatsApp conversation with Tim.

Since Avicii was a very shy person and kept his personal life private, there is not a lot of information available about the couple’s relationship.

Also, as a tribute to the Swedish superstar, the tallest church tower in Netherlands played some of his most popular tunes with the rings of the bell tower. The bell chimes featured Avicii’s tracks ‘Wake Me Up’, ‘Without You’ and ‘Hey Brother.’
