The world’s largest dance music festival kicked off day one of its highly-anticipated, three-day annual festival on Friday, May 19, with an epic opening ceremony on the cosmetic MEADOW stage by UK house music DJ, James Hype.
The first day included show stopping performances by a multitude of world-renowned artists. Amongst the stacked lineup, David Guetta took over the newly designed kinetic FIELD stage with hits like “Be My Lover” and “Titanium” and FISHER had everybody losing it with his unreleased viral hit, “Take It Off.” Wax Motif and Malaa shocked Vegas during their b2b set with a surprise appearance by Ty Dolla $ign. The award winning rapper spit hits like “Paranoid,” “Midnight Hour, and more.
Marshmello literally made it rain underneath the Electric Sky; Alison Wonderland braved the stage while nine months pregnant and Anabel Englund debuted her entrancing new single “strangely sentimental.” Plus Above & Beyond made their long-awaited return to EDC after a four year hiatus. The evening wrapped with a grand finale firework spectacle that overtook the entire Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Other great happenings beyond the nine stages of music included the first of three full days of legal weddings and commitment ceremonies in Downtown EDC, the debut of Insomniac’s 30th Anniversary Art Car, and VOLTA Beauty unveiling six full-service beauty bars across the festival grounds.

WHAT: Electric Daisy Carnival returns to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Friday, May 19 through Sunday, May 21. A spirited and bright community of more than 525,000 attendees will come together for three nights to celebrate life, love, art, and music underneath the Electric Sky to bring the unparalleled world of EDC to life.
