Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) UK, which has been one of the most popular music festivals in Europe, has been called off.
This shocking announcement was made on EDC UK’s official website and the following was written by founder of Insomniac Events, Pasquale Rotella:
“Thank you for your support of EDC UK. Our plans to grow and improve the festival at Milton Keynes have not developed as we had hoped, and we are not going to be able to stage EDC UK this July in a manner that meets all of our high expectations. As a result, we are indefinitely postponing the show until we can properly reimagine all areas of the experience. We apologize for the inconvenience we know this causes, and we thank you for your understanding.”
This has come out as a dreadful announcement for the British fans. No one saw this coming as EDC and Insomniac have successfully organized multiple festivals across multiple cities with a good response and turnout from the fans. EDC UK kicked off in 2013 and ever since then has seen an elite list of DJs such as Hardwell, Calvin Harris and others get behind the decks. It’s really sad to see this festival being called off.
Let’s hope that they make a return soon.
