As Morocco’s Oasis Festival gets ever closer, yet another wave of tasteful names has been announced for the one-of-a-kind musical experience, which takes place from 14th – 16th September at the stunning Fellah Hotel in Marrakech.
The latest wave of acts, including Boo Williams, Cinthie, Hot Since 82, Joy Orbison, rRoxymore (live), Sasha and Unes, complements an already impressive line-up, that stars Avalon Emerson, Ben Klock, Carl Cox, DJ Koze, Honey Dijon, Jessy Lanza, Mount Kimbie, Peggy Gou, The Black Madonna, and many more. Next to these musical additions is news that the festival’s cultural offerings are also expanding, with The Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden (MACAAL) and new area ‘Welcome to the Kingdom’ set to showcase the very best of Morocco’s contemporary art, culture and design.
First amongst the latest names is Last Night on Earth label boss and the original superstar DJ Sasha who brings decades of DJing experience. The fresh house sounds come courtesy of Ibiza favourite Hot Since 82 and Chicago house legend Boo Williams. UK sensation Joy Orbison will be on hand to serve up his take on bass and techno, there’s a live show from rRoxymore and Berlin’s in the know Cinthie and Myriam step up for a back to back set. Germany’s contemporary tech house tastemaker and label boss Alex Niggemann will join the previously announced Amine K and Denis Horvat for a b2b2b set, and Morocco’s finest, Unes, Kali G., Pandi Fassi and LasriZ, complete the lineup.
As well as these exciting musical additions, Oasis will also welcome The Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden (MACAAL) to this year’s edition. The museum, which has been praised by the likes of Forbes, Wallpaper, and Vogue and hosted shows in New York and London to great acclaim, will bring a genuine slice of Moroccan art, history, and culture to the event and offer a window into the country’s flourishing creative scenes.
Also new for 2018 is Welcome to the Kingdom, a cultural, creative and immersive space curated by Amine Bendriouich, that will bring the best avant-garde offerings Morocco has to offer, from the fields of design, music, art, and culture. Barometer, Marrakech’s celebrated cocktail bar, is set to make a return, offering up a unique and mouthwatering menu of fusion drinks, thanks to their bespoke cocktail wizardry and alchemic approach to mixing. Also returning for 2018 is the festival’s hookah lounge, champagne bar, and a wide variety of culinary delights from Marrakech’s contemporary food scene. All this, coupled with a new on-site spa, daily yoga and meditation, sun-soaked swimming pools and tropical gardens provides a fully immersive and relaxing experience next to the world-class music offerings.
With this final wave of names, Oasis Festival 2018 is shaping up to be an utterly essential date on the festival calendar.
