From May 2020 to October 2020 to May 2021, like many a festival in the past year, the fate of EDC Las Vegas remains up in the air at the moment as well.

But while many Spring / Summer festivals have already decided to postpone their plans for the first half of 2021, head honcho of Insomniac, Pasquale Rotella seems to have other plans.

In an unofficial announcement on Twitter, Rotella shared that while an official update will follow soon, for the time being, “nothing has changed” and they are still planning to carry on with hosting EDC Las Vegas from 21-23rd May 2021.

In the tweet shared on March 18, Rotella said, “Full EDC LV update coming soon. But as of now, nothing has changed. If we can have a safe show in May, then we’re going to make it happen.” He continued to assure fans who weren’t comfortable attending just yet saying, “If you don’t want to attend, or aren’t able to, no problem! You’ll have the option to transfer your ticket to 2022.”

While a number of factors will come into play including the government permissions with regards to gatherings and the health and safety risks the event may pose, Rotella did say while it isn’t on the cards just yet, if they do need to postpone, they were ready for the possibility.

He continued to share that possibility as well saying, “If we’re not able to do the show in May, then we have backup dates ready & refunds if you can’t make our new dates. I appreciate everyone’s patience while we work through everything!”

If EDC Las Vegas does actually take place in May 2021, it will lay the groundwork for festivals looking to return in late summer and fall of this year. Currently, EDC Orlando is scheduled to be held during its normal November time frame and EDC Mexico has been postponed to fall.
