The Sunburn Music Festival, which had been given a green light to hold the 2020 edition in Goa on 27th, 28th and 29th December, will not be happening and will be rescheduled to a later date.

The tourism minister of Goa stated, “We have taken the decision keeping in mind the health of the people of Goa”. “We wanted to promote tourism and get tourism-related businesses like taxis, restaurants, hotels started by having an event like Sunburn, but after we thought more about it, we decided to cancel the EDM festival due to the pandemic,” the Tourism Minister added.

Percept Live made its first announcement on 1st November promising a safe Sunburn which follows all COVID guidelines from Unlock 5.0. The event was scaled down to 20 percent of its usual size in order to meet the ideal conditions. Despite all the restructuring, the 3-day Indian festival has seen some harsh criticism for the last few days. Percept made an announcement about the reschedule on their social media.

Patrons who have obtained tickets for the event can request a full refund through BookMyShow or retain the tickets and receive F&B coupons, merchandise worth 50 percent of the ticket price as a token of gratitude.

According to the post, more details like the new dates will be made public once the situation of pandemic improves.
