With an ethereal take on their craft, it comes as no surprise that Tale Of Us has catapulted to international fame since they got their start almost a decade ago. Afterlife was created as an odyssey through the realm of consciousness and became a natural progression for their complex sound. Created in 2016, the label has mesmerized listeners globally with both emotive releases and mystifying design elements, with the showcase finding a home in cities like Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bucharest, London, Tulum and more. September’s performance will take Afterlife from its highly acclaimed third season in Ibiza to the industrial streets of Brooklyn for their highly anticipated US debut.

Tale Of Us are also embracing the intersection where fashion, art and music collide. Collaborating with menswear designer Boris Bidjan Saberi in 2017 to launch their own line ‘Afterlife x 11 by BBS,’ the talented Italian duo have continued to elevate their unique melancholic techno as they continue to explore their interest in the arts world.

New York City’s inaugural Afterlife event features one of the most impressive supporting lineups The Brooklyn Mirage has ever seen. Germany’s own Recondite (live), who recently returned to Afterlife with his gripping Rainmaker EP, will join the lineup for a special live performance. Swiss duo Adriatique, who recently shared their multifaceted Ray EP via the label, will also be in attendance along with the deep and elaborate Patrice Bäumel, Just This label heads Hunter/Game, seasoned composer Roland Appel and Brooklyn’s own Brian Cid. Joining the lineup in The Kings Hall will be techno veteran Robert Hood who is frequently credited as one of the founding fathers of the minimal genre, and Matrixxman who is one of techno’s newer stars whose rapid ascent has already seen him grace the decks at Berghain and Movement as well as release on highly respected labels like Dekmantel and Ghostly International. Rounding out the impressive lineup is Afterlife favorite Amandra (live) whose improvised mind-bending grooves have captivated revelers at Amsterdam Dance Event, Shelter Amsterdam and Afterlife Ibiza, and applauded Swiss imprint Cityfox’s label head, Return.

Welcoming some guest performers that will transcend the evenings musical curation, Afterlife is pleased to present London-based visual artist Quayola who is known for effortlessly blending dreamscapes both real and imagined. Showcasing the stunning visual performance Endless-Jardins with the accompanying soundtrack to Tale Of Us’ downtempo 2017 Endless album, the installation will run from open to close creating a truly immersive experience in the expansive Great Hall.

With a deep dedication to the sounds of the underground as well as impeccable design, there truly is no better landing pad for Afterlife than The Brooklyn Mirage. Utilizing The Brooklyn Mirage, Great Hall and Kings Hall alongside the state of the art KV2 soundsystem and dazzling lighting, the venue shares the same devotion to immersing attendees traversing art and music. Coupled with omnipresent views of New York City’s skyline along with multi-level viewing platforms, and delicious food vendors, Afterlife will come to life for the very first time in The Big Apple this September.
