2023 is off to quite the start for The Weeknd, “Blinding Lights” grew to become the most-streamed track of all time on Spotify beating Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You.”

Released in November 2019, “Blinding Lights” was the second single to be released from his fourth studio album, ‘After Hours’ which was released in full back in March 2020. With a whopping 3.336 billion streams, the track pushed the current chart topper, Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” at 3.334 billion streams.
Sharing the news on New Years Eve, The Weeknd tweeted saying, “happy new years to blinding lights. the most streamed song of all time tonight @Spotify.”

Sitting at the third spot is “Dance Monkey” by Tones & I, followed by Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” and Post Malone’s “Rockstar” rounding out the top five.
The song that topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks as well as staying in the top 10 for an entire year and spent a total of almost two years on the coveted chat setting records.
