On July 24, a bomb went off in front of the entrance of Ansbach Open Air music festival in Ansbach, Germany with around 2,500 people in attendance.

The attack happened just two days after a gunman, who had been bullied in the past, went in a shopping mall in Munich killing nine people along with two other terrorist attacks that had occurred in Germany this past week. Previously, twelve, now fifteen, people have been reportedly injured in the festival with four in critical condition, but all are expected to recover. No lives have been taken, except for the attacker.

The incident occurred somewhere around 10 PM when the man tried to get inside the festival, but was refused entry and afterwards, blasted the explosive he carried in his backpack he had filled with screws, bolts, and nails in an attempt to inflict more damage around him. Everyone in the music festival and the surrounding area of the bomb attack were then evacuated.

Mubariz Mahmoof, a Pakistani neighbor of the terrorist, identified the attacker as Mojammed Daleel. The 27-year-old refugee from Syria that plotted the suicide attack was previously permitted to stay in Germany, living in an old hotel converted into a refugee shelter, after being denied asylum in Bavaria, because of the ongoing civil war in Syria.

An investigation is currently underway in the attacker’s home to see if he had planned any more such attacks. Investigators have found supplies for making bombs, some equipment, two mobile phones, SIM cards, and a video on the terrorist’s phone where he pledged allegiance to the state of Islam. In the video, he also made an announcement to carry out an attack to take revenge against Germans for obstructing Islam in the name of Allah and as revenge for killing Muslims according to CNN.

Here, video footage has been posted of what the scene looked like after the bombing.
