Bilbao BBK Live expands on its lineup for 2019, with an array of new acts confirmed for Basoa, the festival’s carefully curated electronic music space.
From world-renowned artists to emerging young talents, ‘Basoa’ will play host to uninterrupted party sessions from Laurent Garnier, Honey Dijon, John Talabot, Octo Octa, Todd Terje, Tama Sumo, Midland, Bicep and more. The new acts announced today will join the likes of The Strokes, Suede, Brockhampton, Rosalía, Idles, Thom Yorke, Princess Nokia, and Nils Frahm at the forward-thinking Spanish festival from 11 – 13 July 2019.
Located in a clearing in the beautiful Basque woodland, Basoa invites discerning revelers to get lost to the finest in electronic and experimental sounds amidst the idyllic woodland surroundings of the beautiful Basque Country. The 2019 programme at Basoa once again combines top-tier global artists, aspiring stars and young emerging talents, each invited to take the dancefloor on a journey through an extended session. Highlights of the line-up include the master Laurent Garnier, the living history of techno and house music in Europe, who has been making the planet dance for 35 years; John Talabot, a tireless tracker of music, whose versatility lets him weave together sessions that are stylistic tours without ever losing an unmistakable identity, and who, after his unforgettable closing act in Basoa last year, returns to wrap up this space once again; Honey Dijon, born in Chicago, the Mecca of house music, Honey dominates this genre, bringing a sound that is always energetic, daring and uninhibited; Todd Terje (DJ Set), known for his legendary edits and dancefloor killers like ‘Ragysh’ and ‘Inspector Norse’; UK selector Midland, whose talent has proven to be increasingly chameleonic; and Bicep (DJ Set), who continue to demonstrate that they are a duo capable of traveling down the road paved by the likes of Orbital, Prodigy, and The Chemical Brothers.
They are joined by DJs Alicia Carrera, Álvaro Cabana, Courtesy, DJ Dustin, DJ Seinfeld, Ketiov, Moxie, Octo Octa and Tama Sumo, who ensure moments of total madness and unexpected discoveries.
For this edition, Basoa has partnered with Red Bull and Absolut. The selection of artists and the surround sound provided by the space are combined with the careful attention to detail to set the stage in Basoa, which has been internationally recognised with the ‘Innovation in Staging’ prize at the ‘Festival of the Future’ awards.
