In Black Rock City in northwestern Nevada, Burning Man is an annual event that promotes art, community, self-expression, and self-reliance.
The event takes its name from the ceremony in which a large wooden figure, known as the Man, is burned on the last night of Burning Man, which is the Saturday before Labor Day.
Larry Harvey and Jerry James, who built the first man, organised a small gathering on Baker Beach in San Francisco on June 22, 1986. Larry Harvey, Burning Man’s co-founder, outlined ten principles for the event in 2004: radical inclusion, gifting, decommodificatios, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, participation, and immediacy.
Aside from the pandemic, the event took place each year in the nine days leading up to and including Labor Day. After a three year break, the festival has official announced it return by sharing the ticketing details.
The management says,
“The pause in the event cycle, though challenging, has allowed us to clarify our goals, a few of which will be noted in our ticketing strategy for 2022. We are excited to announce the recalibration, as well as renaming some existing programs to better reflect their role in the community.”

After a three-year break, the burners will finally reunite. The countdown to the big day is just 225 days away, which makes everyone more excited than ever before.
