Following the announcement of Canal Mills’ closure on the 1st January 2019, the Leeds club will embark on its last ever Autumn/Winter programme, culminating with a huge New Year’s Day party to round off six incredible years at the venue.
The Final Chapter begins with the last edition of The Garden Party for this year. Canal Mills favourites Alan Fitzpatrick, George FitzGerald and Mella Dee will all head up proceedings with PBR Streetgang suitably joining the bill.
Metropolis will make their final appearance at the mill with SASASAS, DJ Hype, Turno, Jamie Duggan, Benny L and The Heatwave at the beginning of October, followed by another bass heavy night with My Nu Leng, courtesy of Sticky Feet. Bondax – an act not unfamiliar with Canal Mills – will present their Recur tour with special guests TBA later that month.
Rounding off October will be Canal Mills’ annual Halloween showdown which will welcome three acts never to have played the venue previously – Todd Terje, Baba Stiltz and William Djoko, plus the return of Krystal Klear.
In November, Artwork will take over the entirety of Canal Mills with his ever popular Art’s House concept, after donning the venue’s second room recently for The Garden Party. Bicep will also descend on the venue for one last time on their tour, with Paul Woolford, Hammer and Willow.
Proceedings at the mill will continue off with disco queens La Discotheque, who will bring Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor (performing a Prince special set), Nicky Siano, PBR Streetgang and more to be announced.
On NYE and NYD, Canal Mills will reach its conclusion. Since 2012, the venue has brought a vast range of acts from all quarters of dance music and beyond and it will all come to a head with two blockbuster line ups to be announced.
