Of all the wonderful things that the pandemic has brought to a halt, Coachella being cancelled certainly brings much disappointment to dance music fans.
The festival which draws more than a hundred thousand people each day from all over the world, has had to cancel the festival for the third time in less than one year.
Having been initially scheduled for April 2020, the onset of the pandemic forced the festival dates to be pushed to October last year. However even the latter plan didn’t work out.
The authorities have cited the risk of having people from many countries coming together as the reason for the cancellation move.
“If Covid-19 were detected at these festivals, the scope and number of attendees and the nature of the venue would make it infeasible, if not impossible, to track those who may be placed at risk,” the authorities have said.
While we wait for the new dates to be announced, we hope festival-goers won’t be disappointed for too long!
