Following Coachella’s initial announcement of postponing the desert festival to the fall this year, Golden Voice, the organizers of Coachella may have decided to not proceed with the rescheduled dates. This piece of news comes from a report that was recently published by Billboard.
According to the report, the long-time Indio, California festival may now be held in April 2021 at around 60 % capacity or can be moved all together to October 2021. The report also mentions that there is a strong possibility of scaling the event down.
AEG Live, the parent company of Golden Voice, has recently laid off 15 % of its employees, furloughed 100 employees whilst placing pay cuts between 20 to 50 %.
This report comes after heavy rumours that the festival was requesting artists to rebook for their 2021 edition. There is no official announcement from the Coachella organizers at the time of writing.
