Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s management have opened up following the massive outrage following the duo’s victory as the top DJs in the world.

“We have indeed conducted ​​promotional campaigns, like all the other DJs. But Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have deservedly won. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike now travel all around the world. Wherever they are, they sell out the show in no time. That’s why they have won, not because the of the iPad votes. It’s fun to win, not to lose.” – Debby Wilmsen, a member of DVLM’s Management.

One of the ‘iPad girls’ even spoke up on what they would do, and how much they were paid for it.
“We were sometimes 60 girls across the locality and the most effective areas were the schools. We visited in the breaks and asked students to vote. I earned 10 euro per hour doing it.”

While DVLM’s management may have admitted to the campaigns, the ethical aspect of using unknown subjects to vote for someone in a competition some may have not even heard of is atrocious. I’ve got no more to comment on DVLM or DJ Mag. It is what it is.
