The man behind the massive hits, ‘Lean On’ & ‘Where Are Ü Now’ has officially been named the most Shazam’d artist of the year!
Diplo becomes the only artist in the world to be Shazam’d over 40 million times. The total figure comprises of Diplo’s three projects, with Major Lazer receiving 27 million, followed by Jack Ü on 9.6m and his personal tracks under his solo artist name reaching 4.6m.
Diplo joked at the fact on Facebook saying,
“I guess that means no one knows my music or who the fuck I am since you had to Shazam me 40 million times. You could have just followed me on SoundCloud. It would save you some time. But no seriously, thanks”.
Congratulations to Diplo, the man who’s also been making headlines for receiving three nominations for this year’s Grammys!
