EDUARDO CASTILLO BRINGS HIS HABITAS CONCEPT TO BELGIUM BEACH FESTIVAL WECANDANCE

WECANDANCE will be bringing a new trend to Belgium, a trend that has been spreading worldwide where like-minded people are looking for an all-round experience, indivisibly linked to a certain genre of down-tempo electronic music. It is a trend that has been spreading worldwide and has been spotted in South-America, Istanbul and Berlin. Events like Burning Man in Nevada and Further Future at the Moapa River Indian Reservation near Las Vegas, can also be considered a reference. They “generate society that connects each individual to his or her creative powers, to participation in community, to the larger realm of civic life, and to the even greater world of nature that exists beyond society”. They value a selectively curated line-up, but attach equal importance to comfort, quality food and to being inspired by their surroundings, whether it is in the middle of an island or the desert.

On August 13th and 14th, WECANDANCE will build upon this concept, with Villa Schweppes invited to host a stage at this year’s electronic beach boutique festival. Focusing on this particular sound of down-tempo electronic music, the stage will feature DJ sets and live performances from acts including Eduardo Castillo.

Eduardo Castillo, founder of PATTERN BAR in downtown LA, the infamous VOODOO events and new event concept HABITAS, is passionate about creating magical experiences. With musical influences stemming from his South American and European upbringing, his eclectic record collection reads like a music history encyclopaedia. His mission is to always be a storyteller from beginning to end and every record he plays has a very important intention. Described as a ”musical enchanter”, he sees his music and improvisational live remixing like brush strokes on a canvas that once he’s reached the end, will look like a world of realism and fantasy all in one. He’s a master at layering the musical with the technical and the surreal with the real. Eduardo always leaves an indelible mark with his style and impeccable understanding of his environment and his lovingly curated show at the Villa Schweppes Dome is sure to be a true #WCD16 festival highlight.

Taking place from 13-14 August 2016, on the sun-kissed golden sands of Zeebrugge Beach in Belgium, WECANDANCE Festival also features acts including Dixon, Jamie Jones, DJ Tennis, Recondite, Pachanga Boys, Vaal, Woo York, Roy Davis Jr, Young Marco, Goldffinch, Lovefingers and Maribou State, along with a whole host of electronic and hip hop talent.

Belgium’s finest culinary talent, including michelin-starred restaurant The Jane, will be on hand to provide the ultimate festival food experience. Plus, the region’s most innovative artists and fashion designers are on board to create unique pieces, designed exclusively for the festival.
