30-year-old electronic music producer i_o has tragically passed away. The shocking news came via a tweet shared on his Twitter account on Tuesday evening.
While the cause of death is unclear, the statement read, “On Monday, November 23rd, the world lost a beautiful soul, Garrett Falls Lockhart, also known as i_o.” It goes on to admire the talented young soul saying, “This extremely talented spirit taught us that even if nothing matters, you can still lead with love. Garrett’s truth and soul lives on through the music he shared.”
The mau5trap roster mainstay had just recently inked a deal with one of the most prestigious dance music labels, Armada Music as well as announced the launch of his very own Label 444 imprint. A graduate from LA’s ICON Collective, he had also released work via Skrillex‘s Nest HQ imprint, Dim Mak, and more, as well as released music on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats label banner as well.
