Dimitri de Wit has succumbed to his battle with cancer and passed away at the age of 51 years.

He was the former manager to EDM icon Tiesto as well as a long-standing history with his label; Black Hole Recordings.

Having started his career extremely early in life, de Wit began DJ’ing under the moniker of DJ Le Blanc in the Netherlands and soon went on to become a fixture in the regions Underground rave scene in the 80s. He was known for promoting the iconic acid house parties in the region during the time.

In addition to being Tiesto’s former manager, de Wit was also known for spearheading the A&R efforts for his label Black Hole Recordings. He also released a bunch of original music on the label. De Wit has been credited with being instrumental in much of Tieto’s early success and building his career but also a key player in building the Trance scene as a whole.

In a touching tribute to him on the Black Hole Recordings Facebook page, Arny Bink who co-founded the label with Tiesto wrote, “Dimitri was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the first week of June, and despite his best attempts and incredibly positive attitude, his cancer was sadly enough way too aggressive to give him any kind of fighting chance. And so it is with heavy hearts, that all of us at Black Hole extend our sincere condolences to Dimitri’s girlfriend, family and friends, and those colleagues from the music industry who have been in his life.”

He ended the heart-wrenching post saying, “The last time we spoke, he told me he’d be prepping the VIP room up above, and knowing Dimi, he’s invited some more people to that event already. Goodbye, my friend, I hope you rest in peace! This is the one party you left way too early…”

May Dimitri’s soul RIP as he takes his party to the heavens above and our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends in these tough times.
