Talk about scaling up and being available to consumers on all possible touch points, Spotify has made itself available on PS3’s and PS4’s in Columbia, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon, and India.
This is not a surprise as this has been launched after Xbox announced the availability of Spotify on the Xbox Game Bar and on Windows 10. So, if you are paying a game on your PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4, you can now stream Spotify music while playing a game on your console.
On announcing this, the PlayStation blog read “With more than 50 million songs and 3 billion playlists, there are plenty of music choices for gamers to listen to while playing. You can access Spotify’s free service on PlayStation Music through your PS4 and PS3 system.”
If a user does not have a Spotify account, he can get a monthly Spotify premium subscription service. Gamers can also avail a free one-month trial, to begin with, if they are just beginning with their subscriptions. All you need to do is install a small system update for your PlayStation. Once this is installed, you should be able to see the Spotify application on the home screen that you can log into.
The app can also be accessed through your phones with Spotify connect. You can connect your phone to your Wifi network and you can set up play station music with a single tap. Your phone becomes your remote and you can play, pause or change tracks with your phone.
The Sony PlayStation prices have reduced in India over time. The PS4 Slim with 500GB storage is available for RS, 22,000 while the 1TB storage PlayStation is priced around RS 30,000. To add to that the Spotify premium subscription is priced at Rs 119 per month or Rs 1,189 per year.
So, to all gamers be it on the Xbox or the PlayStation, Spotify is now available to you while you game, which can be accessed through your phone or game console, making your control easy while gaming.
Who do you think is next? Google home or Amazon Echo to get the Spotify integration?
