From record crowds to special guests and hundreds of thousands of people around the world watching history unfold live across almost 80 countries, the spectacular charity concert of the ‘World’s Biggest Guestlist’, featuring Dutch dance music pioneer Hardwell, delivered not only an historical event with high impact, but also brought visibility and awareness around the much-needed issue of education for young children in India.

The event held on Sunday December 13th in one of India’s largest stadiums, the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai, saw Hardwell joined by 70,000 fans on his own personal guest list to unite for an occasion to “make a social difference” against the lack of education for underprivileged children living in the slums of Mumbai. The underlining impact of this large-scale concert has been highlighted by much of the Indian press as a ‘great source of provide for the country’, and showcased to the world that music does truly posses the power to unite people. With over 125,000 fans registering for the opportunity to attend this historic event and to be a part of creating a brighter future for thousands of children, the concert billed as the ‘World’s Biggest Guest List’ has sparked a revolution in live entertainment in India, that it now plans to extend to other countries around the globe.

Together with charity organisation Magicbus, the United We Are Foundation spearheads of Hardwell, Anna Agency CEO Anna Knaup and United Welfare Trust founder Shailendra Singh set out to provide educational aid to 3,000 underprivileged children – pulling them from 8 years of age through to 18 years of age as they mature into young adults. Through donations of support from businesses, partners and music fans alike, the Foundation has managed to greatly exceed its initial expectations by raising enough money to benefit over 18,000 children.

With Hardwell, and all extended parities and contributing teams, donating all profits from the concert to the charity organisation Magicbus, this humanitarian effort is the first of its kind of this scale from a DJ within the electronic music industry.

Furthermore, the sponsors for the event have committed to supporting the Magic Bus programme beyond this one-off event. Following on from their donations to the cause supported by ‘World’s Biggest Guest List’ event, the sponsors have agreed to support the tremendous work of the Magic Bus programme long-term. So therefore, Magic Bus is projecting over 18,000 kids as beneficiaries in the first year, following this event aid movement, and in the coming years these sponsors will stay engaged and further fund the Magic Bus project to help keep the programme alive and kicking for the benefit of future generations of children.
