I Am Hardwell show in Belgium cancelled due to terror scare

Hardwell’s upcoming ‘I Am Hardwell’ show in Antwerp has been cancelled over looming terror threats following the terror attack in Brussels.

“The prevailing atmosphere surrounding the recent events in Brussels, we have decided that it is not the right time or place to host this event.”

Fearing an ‘unsafe environment’ Hardwell’s upcoming ‘I Am Hardwell’ show in Antwerp has been cancelled indefinitely. Ticket holders will be notified and refunded for their purchases.

This isn’t the first time the looming terror threat in Europe has affected an electronic dance music event. Following the terror attacks at Brussels airport in March, the nation placed a ban on all bags at football stadiums to help ensure the safety of its citizens. Jan Briers, the Chairman of the Federation of Music Festival in Flanders and Governor of East Flanders, even wanted to expand that ban to music festivals.

He said, “We will draw up a list of suggestions for the 200 or so festivals that there are in Flanders. It will be up to the organisers themselves to decide together with the local Mayo rand the police which security measures they intend to take.”

Tomorrowland is also said to be tightening up its security protocols; after all, it is a camping event with a huge number of people gathering in one spot.
