Linkin Park has officially ushered in a new era with the announcement of Emily Armstrong, lead vocalist of the rock band Dead Sara, as their new singer.
This is the band’s first significant lineup change since the passing of Chester Bennington in 2017. Armstrong will share vocal duties with Mike Shinoda, a founding member of the band. Additionally, producer Colin Brittain has joined as the new drummer, replacing longtime member Rob Bourdon, who has decided to step away.
The announcement comes alongside news of a brand-new album titled From Zero, set for release on November 15, 2024. The title pays homage to the band’s origins when they were known as Xero, symbolizing both their past and their future journey. Fans were given a taste of what’s to come with the release of the lead single “The Emptiness Machine.”
In support of the new album, Linkin Park will kick off the From Zero World Tour, with major stops in cities like Los Angeles, New York, London, and Seoul. This marks the band’s return to the spotlight after years of hiatus, during which they focused on re-releases and tribute events following Bennington’s death.
This move is seen as a fresh start for the band, as they honor their past while moving forward with a new sound and lineup, continuing their legacy in the world of rock and alternative music.
