In “Sing,” the characters are anthropomorphic animals, and the film centres on a struggling theatre owner who holds a singing competition, and how it impacts the lives of each contestant. Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, John C. Reilly and many more are among the voices for the movie.
The sequel to the 2016 film “Sing 2” is set to release this year on December 22, 2021. Written and directed by Garth Jennings, it will feature new characters voiced by Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, Eric André, Chelsea Peretti, and Bono. Among the movie’s musical selections are songs by Ariana Grande, Stevie Wonder, Queen, and Taylor Swift, among others.
Bringing the news back to “Martin Garrix”‘s Hollywood debut, he produced the track “Your Song Saved My Life” performed by “U2” as an announcement for the sequel.
It is not the first time the artists have collaborated. Previously, Martin Garrix released a track called “We Are The People” which featured Bono and the Edge from the band U2. It served as the official anthem of UEFA Euro 2020.
Unlike the previous song, “Your Song Saved My Life” is a slow jazz ballad from the artist that fits the movie’s theme perfectly.
With the amount of experimentation and collaboration Martin Garrix is doing, he has broken out of that EDM tag, and is proving to be a transformative artist in every way.
