Unarguably India’s biggest dance music act, Nucleya’s escalation to the top has been an expedition to take note of. After subsequently releasing two monumental albums in 2015 and 2016, namely ‘Bass Rani’ and ‘Raja Baja’, enthralling over 2,50,000 lac enthusiasts at the 18-city ‘Bass Yatra Tour’ in 2016, the dance music behemoth continued to reiterate his sovereignty with the unveiling of his ‘Sub Cinema’ Tour in 2017 which marked the debut of his ambitious audio-visual live show.

Following his recurring success on the charts and in the stadiums, on home turf and overseas, the modest electronic music producer who impeccably serves his unique brand of desi dubstep, has teamed up exclusively with Asia’s biggest dance music festival, Sunburn to present the Sunburn Arena Tota Myna Tour in support of his latest album. Spread across 6 cities, touted to be the biggest-ever tour attempted by an independent artist in India, the tour will travel to places like Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Jaipur, before culminating in Kochi.

The Mumbai free capacity showcase will be supported by Shruti Hassan, Foreign Beggars, RITVIZ, and Shiva Manvi and will host approximately 25,000 fans. This unique event is set to mark the Indian bass heavyweight’s first show of his 2018 season.

Notorious for his club-friendly drops, fat bass lines and quintessentially raucous live sets, this time the arena showcase promises to deliver an inimitable and intimate spectacle of Nucleya’s debut album launch ‘Tota Myna’.

This album is a composition of a long coming idea that he had envisioned through his signature style of Indian bass, reggae, and dance music; along with his profound love for experimental sounds of pop. The tracks include collaborations with A-list artists from the industry, including Shruti Hassan and hip-hop star Raftaar, as well as prominent indie artists such as Rashmeet Kaur, Avneet Kurmi and Vibha Saraf. A series of singles will be released over the coming weeks — details to be revealed soon.

Along with this, the tremendous job done with his album artwork is none other than by his super talented wife Smriti Choudary a.k.a pinksoda; who has been a huge part of this album expedition.

“My mother called Smriti and me ‘tota myna’ when we were younger; we were the inseparable lovebirds,” says the Goa-based producer/DJ.

It represents the special place that love songs and pop music fuses into our lives. The album, however, is beyond nostalgia – it goes from music to the aesthetic, the visceral and the visible. Everything from wonder, to the alternating affinity towards the curiosity of pop-bass music and street artwork in India, observed by Nucleya; making this album a wider reach than niche forms of music available to us. The album art is inspired by lovebirds seen on the trucks traveling in India.

Tota Myna promises to be an experience with a configuration of layered elements of music, intentionally blurring the lines between pop music and bass music one which the country and the world can definitely look forward to.

“To my fans, I’m discovering and growing every day and hope to do more shows and get more artists featured and invite as many homegrown talents as possible for this album” concludes the humbling sensation Nucleya.

With the Nucleya season unleashed, it’s time to gear up for a monumental showcase!
