odesza is there ever a last goodbye

A couple of days ago, ODESZA launched a cryptic campaign titled “Welcome to The Last Goodbye” while all this led to was a landing page on Laylo, which is a tool that artists use often to directly communicate with their fans – it asked users to enter their phone number and email to “get notified about exclusive content, merch, and event drops” via text messages.

Once completed, an automated text message which simply read “Welcome To The Last Goodbye” was sent with an attachment suggesting adding ODESZA as a contact.

While this news had fans contemplating the worst due to the phrase signaling the end of the iconic duo or a final tour or album, the second cryptic drop could be signaling otherwise. The phrase with the second hint says “Is There Ever a Last Goodbye?”

This audio snippet took some serious sleuthing by user “Printertoner” on the Foreign Family Collective Discord server. They noticed an update on ODESZA’s TLG microsite and then found a password-protected URL and entered the password “tlg” on either the site or via text message, triggering the dispatch of an exclusive audio clip.

Not leaving that much to guessing, a few hours later ODESZA themselves shared the password to spread the word.

The clip that gets generated is about 30-seconds long and features the voices of the duo, Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight from their childhood years layered over a surreal soundscape reminiscent of the signature ODESZA feel we have come to expect from the two.

Hear it below in the tweet shared by Festive Owl through a screen recording.
