Swedish House Mafia

In the year of 2007, the EDM group Swedish House Mafia officially formed with members Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso when they made their debut after a performance in Ibiza, Spain at the Main Room in Cream Amnesia.

Their name accidentally came about after the group, which also included Eric Prydz at the time, found out what they were being called and eventually went along with it.

March 24 of 2013, the group disbanded after their final appearance at Ultra Music Festival in Miami and went their separate ways with Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso paired together as Axwell Λ Ingrosso and Steve Angello putting all his efforts into his debut album – Wild Youth and the growth of his imprint, Size Records.

Swedish House Mafia

Rumors spilled after Proximity spoke in a Facebook announcement that a few people working in the music industry (who exactly, though?) said Swedish House Mafia is making a comeback in 2017 for a confirmed tour, but with a disclaimer.

Your EDM reached out to the PR team for Axwell Λ Ingrosso for clarification on the rumor and in return, received a response saying, “At this point, we’re not planning on reuniting and we have really no further comments on what the future for Swedish House Mafia looks like.”

Bummer…
