Sandbox Festival returns for its sixth edition to the magical El Gouna resort in Egypt

The sixth stunning edition of Sandbox Festival is set to be an intimate and breathtaking jewel in the festival calendar, offering up three full days of what is sure to be an electronic music odyssey.

The location is the magical El Gouna resort on the Red Sea Riviera in Egypt, and the vibe once again will focus on community, pushing musical boundaries and mixing up established names with talented local artists. This is a festival that prizes music, love, friendships, connections, dancing, sun and sea in equal measure, and it welcomes one and all with open arms.

Musically, many bases are covered, with techno from the likes of Keinemusik’s American spinner Adam Port, Ukrainian temptress Nastia, Belgium’s breakthrough Charlotte de Witte and Bunker New York resident Mike Servito, house from deep groovers Chaos in The CBD, and former Trouw resident Patrice Baumel, plus Life And Death act Mind Against and lo-fi man Mall Grab. There are also plenty of cutting edge and fast rising stars such as Or :La and Workshop’s Willow next to long time label heads like DJ Tennis, innovative producers such as DJ Boring and eclectic diggers such as the famous Dekmantel Soundsystem crew. As well as these DJ sets, there are live shows from Kettenkarussell, Session Victim, DWIG, HVOB, Adham Zahran, Aparde and Fulltone, and plenty more surprises.

At Sandbox, DJs are encouraged to interact and experience all the festival have to offer, with many mingling with the crowd and soaking up the atmosphere and beautiful location before taking to the decks where they are allowed to push themselves and offer up something different than the norm. It’s not a place to lose your mind, but to find yourself and to make new friends and form new relationships. It is a place to soothe your soul with stunning views of a pink sun as it sets and falls into the sea. It’s about relaxing on beautiful organic beaches under clear blue skies or dancing through starry nights. It’s a place to soak in local culture and customs away from the built up cities, where palm trees and local architecture make for a real paradise. As well as more than 40 acts in all, you can also enjoy kiting, diving or snorkeling throughout your sure to be magical stay.
