Skrillex’s India tour may have been the maddest and craziest party the country has seen in a while, and it was going great all the way until the final curtain call. Skrillex’s final show in Gurgaon, India was so packed it led to the death of Anchal Arora, a 23 year old female attendee.
Post-mortem report point to cardiac arrest due to suffocation as the main cause of death with Assistant Commissioner of Police (DLF) Ramesh Pal commenting that the girl had no pre-existing illness or disease that would have contributed to the reaction.
With an expected turnout of 5000-6000 attendees, the event management Clockwork Events did not expect almost double the amount of fans to turn up at the venue causing overcrowding due to space constraints.
“It depends on what the true story is. If they did indeed over-sell tickets and pack the venue beyond capacity, then it is negligence on the organiser’s part.” said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ramesh Pal.
