SoundCloud has finally figured out a way to pump in more cash with the announcement of their paid subscription service, SoundCloud Go.
SoundCloud Go is set to give its subscribers an ad-free experience, save their playlists and have them available without data charges, giving access to records from independent and major labels. While labels have granted SoundCloud access to their records, the rights holders have final say in allowing their music onto the streaming service. This officially get SoundCloud back into the game, competing with Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal.
Don’t worry though cos current users of the site will be still be allowed to access the site for free, supported by ads and without the additional features offered by SoundCloud Go. SoundCloud is currently offering a 30-day trial membership as it rolls out the service in the US, with SoundCloud Go becoming available in other countries later on this year.
Introducing #SoundCloudGo. Offline listening. No ads. Even more tracks. Get the first 30 days free. $9.99/month after that. https://soundcloud.com/go
