The 8th season of Game of Thrones launched with fans coming together around the globe, and Spotify has dug into how this has influenced listening trends.
To begin with, Spotify has had more than 380 million streams through all GOT soundtracks and its related playlists on Spotify starting Jan 1st, 2016. Perhaps what is more interesting is the fact that 250,000 listeners have created their own GOT themed playlists, while some others have created character playlists as below:

7. Sansa Stark

Well, the Mother of Dragons does not have a playlist, but, if you have begun watching the season finale, these playlists will prep you for what is coming next. Fans on Spotify also have a favorite when it comes to who they think will sit on the Iron throne i.e. Tyrion Lannister, the hand of the queen, who has an enormous list of fan-made playlists which accounts to, 7,700!
Following right behind fan-made playlists is ‘The Game of Thrones’ soundtrack composed by Ramin Djawadi. This is the piece, “Light of the Seven” which you must have heard when Cersei blew up the Sept of Baelor in the season 6 finale. Two other tracks by Djawadi that are famous include “Main Title” and “The Winds of Winter”, which plays when Arya sails to Braavos at the conclusion of Season 4.
As all GOT fans are now gearing for the next episode, Spotify has revealed a fresh rock-influenced playlist, “Game of Thrones: The End Is Coming”, which is a collaboration between GOT co-creators David Benioff, D.B.Weiss and Spotify.
Messrs. Benioff and Weiss told Spotify’s blog – “We were looking for songs that made us feel the way the show made us feel,”
And so you can stream from different playlists that will keep you engaged while you are waiting for the next episode. Apart from these GOT themed playlists, you could also indulge in house themed playlists after your favorite clans which will keep your GOT spirt up high.
