An electronic ‘Star Wars’ themed music compilation album is coming out soon!
Star Wars Headspace, a project by Def Jam Records co-founder Rick Rubin, was announced earlier today on Zane Lowe‘s Beats 1 radio show on Apple Music. EDM nerds across the galaxy have been wishing for this one since quite some time now. Guess their wish has been granted!
The compilation album is set to feature some of the biggest names in electronic music from Kaskade to Baauer to A-Track and Galantis. Even electronica figures such as Flying Lotus, Bonobo, Röyksopp will feature in the album. Producers were given access to an archive of classic Star Wars sound effects to use for their original contributions (though any John Williams music was off-limits). Be sure to catch every lightsaber slash, blaster bolt, and vocal sample possible in this record.
Star Wars Headspace releases February 19 on digital platforms and March 18 for physical release. You can check out a few tracks below with the full track-list thereafter.
