After the failure of ‘We Are Your Friends’, the CW & CBS TV Studios have taken it upon themselves to have another go at appeasing the audience with an EDM related drama titled, ‘The Drop’.
Set in the sexy world of Miami’s electronic dance music scene, The Drop centers on a DJ on the edge of ruin who finds hope in a gifted African-American female who becomes his protégé. Though it doesn’t sound too groundbreaking on paper, we’ll have to sit tight before making any assumptions. The only thing for sure is that the soundtrack should be pretty good with Steve Angello being brought on as executive music producer of the series.
The series will be directed by R.J. Cutler, with Kyle Jerrow writing the script. So far no further details have been made available.
