Sunburn Festival, organised by Percept Live, was set to take place at Vagator beach in North Goa on 28, 29 and 30 December this year, featuring over 60 international and local performers.

In October, the festival organisers announced that only audience members who have been fully vaccinated will be admitted. They also stated that they would be following “all applicable COVID-19 government guidelines”. However, there seems to be a problem preventing Asia’s biggest festival from happening.

The Chief Minister of Goa has officially announced that the festival will not take place this year. In a press conference, he told reporters, “We have not given Sunburn permission to hold this year’s festival and the document stating this has already been sent.”

Meanwhile the festival has already announced that pre-sale tickets to Sunburn Goa 2021 are “sold out” and they will be announcing the headliner soon.

With the contradictions in information that’s floating around, it’s no surprise that fans that have booked their tickets already, appear to be disgruntled.
