Swedish edition of The Flying Dutch cancelled over Avicii’s uncertainty

The Swedish edition of ‘The Flying Dutch’ festival has officially been cancelled due to the uncertainty of one of their headliners being able to perform. Yes, its Avicii.

Following the last and very successful, ‘The Flying Dutch’ edition of past weekend, in three Dutch cities, the organisers have now regretfully announced the cancellation of the Swedish edition. This Swedish version of The Flying Dutch was to take place on Saturday 30 July in The Hague, Nijmegen and Den Bosch. Several Swedish top DJs/producers such as Axwell Ingrosso, Steve Angello and, the world famous Avicii, were scheduled to perform there. The dance event has been cancelled because of continuous uncertainty about Avicii’s presence at the event. The visitors who had already bought tickets for the shows are to reportedly receive a full refund.

‘These past weeks we experienced major uncertainty about Avicii presence at our event,’ says Allan Hardenberg of Alda. ‘Our request to Avicii to provide a guarantee of his attendance at our event went to no avail. This uncertainty is not longer acceptable. We can’t do that to our audience’. Organiser John Ewbank adds: ‘We regret this very much, also because these would be his final shows in our country. We understand that the fans will be disappointed, especially because everyone realises how unique this event would have been. Everyone who had already bought a ticket will of course receive a full refund automatically. They will be informed by us personally.’

Sad news, wish the organisers could have turned the situation around somehow. Stay tuned for more updates.
