It’s that time of the year one more time. Forbes just revealed the list – The Celebrity 100: The World’s Highest-paid Entertainers of 2019. Topped once again by Taylor Swift who sang and danced her way to the top spot making a whopping $185 million dollars in the past 12 months.
Kylie Jenner and Kanye West took the second and third spots on the list keeping it in the family. Lionel Messi came in at #4, being one of the only athletes up there and the “Shape Of You” hitmaker Ed Sheeran rounded out the Top 5 dominated by musicians taking 3 of the top 5 spots.
The cost for admission to the list was the highest its ever been at $37.5 million, up 7% from a year ago. Altogether, the world’s 100 highest-paid superstars clocked a startling $6.3 billion in pretax earnings over the past 12 months.
While a host of musicians made it onto the list, only three from the world of EDM featured in the top 100. Dethroning Calvin Harris who has been the highest-paid EDM act since 2013, The Chainsmokers came in at #67 with their $46 Million earnings over the past 12 months. Marshmello jointly featured on the list at #87 with The Weeknd and DJ Khaled with earnings of $40 Million each. Calvin Harris barely made it onto the list at #95 making a total of $38.5 Million.
While Calvin Harris has been relying solely on his residencies across Vegas in the past year, he is slowly returning to the festival circuit with Creamfields 2019. The Chainsmokers and Marshmello, on the other hand, have been touring and producing relentlessly. Marshmello also bagged a prized 2-year $60 million residency at the newly opened KAOS Nightclub in Vegas in addition to dropping his new album just weeks ago.
The Chainsmokers are also showing no signs of stopping, they are set to join David Guetta at his acclaimed BIG night at Ushuaïa Ibiza later this month.
While Forbes does also release a list for The World’s Highest-Paid DJs of the year as well, there hasn’t been one for 2019 just yet. While The Chainsmokers have maintained their earnings, Calvin Harris has fallen a fair bit and on the flip side, Marshmello has leaped up!
Here are the Top 10 from the highest-paid DJ’s from 2018.
