Trump vs. Musk Breakup Turns Washington Into a Warzone

The bromance between Donald Trump and Elon Musk has gone into full meltdown mode, and now politicians, MAGA influencers, and media are scrambling to pick a side in this feud.

The Trump-Musk breakup has all the drama: fiery tweets, government threats, and even an Epstein bombshell. What started with a bill has turned into an all-out war.

It kicked off when Musk torched Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” calling it a “disgusting abomination” that’s full of pork and would blow up the federal deficit. Trump clapped back, accusing Musk of being mad because the bill cuts billions in subsidies for Tesla. From there, things spiraled fast.

By Thursday, it was a social media showdown. Musk went off on X, mocking the bill, posting live while Trump was in the Oval Office, and eventually backing a post that said Trump should be impeached and replaced by VP JD Vance. He even threw in a wild accusation about Trump being named in the Epstein files. Zero proof, but enough to send politicians scrambling.

Trump didn’t hold back either. He went off on Truth Social, saying he told Musk to leave the White House and hinted that federal contracts with Musk’s companies could get axed. Oh, and he tossed in a jab about Musk wasting time on Dogecoin. Classic.

There was a brief flicker of peace when hedge fund manager Bill Ackman suggested they patch things up “for the good of the country,” and Musk replied, “You’re not wrong.” Speaker Mike Johnson even tried to set up a phone call between the two. But by Friday, Trump torpedoed that idea, saying he wasn’t interested in talking.

That slammed the door shut on any immediate truce. Meanwhile, lawmakers started taking sides, some hard, some cautious. Johnson backed Trump’s bill and dismissed Musk’s tweets, saying Americans care about real issues like taxes and border security. Vance jumped in to defend Trump’s character, saying he’s calm under pressure and the “lies” from the media are nonsense.

Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s press secretary, said Musk was just salty because the bill didn’t go his way. She defended Trump’s job as president to fight for the country, not for Elon’s business interests. CJ Pearson, a GOP youth leader, said he’s sticking with the guy “who took a bullet for his country.”

Then came the Epstein claims. Anna Paulina Luna flat-out called Musk’s accusations bogus and said Trump’s name isn’t in the files. Thomas Massie, who’s been supported by Musk before, didn’t agree with impeachment either, but said Musk is just talking Trump’s language back to him. Rep. Burchett pointed out that if there were dirt on Trump in the Epstein files, Biden’s team would’ve weaponized it already.

But not all MAGA influencers were on board. Emily Wilson (Emily Saves America) said this public feud is a bad look. Raquel Debono (Make America Hot Again) joked that “Trump’s not invited to Mars anymore,” while Robby Starbuck begged for peace, reminding people that America’s founders fought and made up too.

Joe Rogan, who endorsed Trump, threw in his two cents, saying someone should just take Musk’s phone away.

On the other side, Dems are acting weirdly sympathetic to Musk. John Fetterman warned fellow Democrats not to start worshipping the guy just because he turned on Trump. He even joked about the days when driving a Tesla was a Democrat’s ultimate virtue signal.

And then there are the ones staying silent. Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon quoted Proverbs and said he’s staying out of it. Richard Hudson just shrugged, saying he thinks it’ll all blow over eventually.

As the dust flies, it’s clear the Trump-Musk drama isn’t just another Twitter spat, it’s cracking open divisions across the political spectrum. And with Musk holding billions in government contracts and Trump gearing up for another presidential run, this feud is far from finished.

Oh, and if you’re wondering how Elon made his billions, he’s been grinding since 1995. After selling Zip2 to Compaq for $307 million, he co-founded X.com, which later became PayPal. He didn’t blow the money on jets or parties, he plowed it into Tesla and SpaceX. He’s got stock influence, crypto power, and still finds time to troll presidents.

So yeah, things are messy. But in a world where a bill can start a political civil war and Mars invitations get revoked, welcome to 2025.
