Ushuaïa Entertainment and Warner announce new partnership

Ushuaïa Entertainment, the event management, creation and development company from the founders of Ushuaїa Ibiza, and global record company Warner Music Group (WMG) have announced a new agreement that includes the release and marketing of the globally famous Ibiza-based hotel’s flagship product, the annual Ushuaїa Ibiza 2016 compilation album “Sïnestesïa”, and the more underground leaning ANTS album. The alliance breaks new ground as brand and business combine to take one of that world’s most iconic and influential voices out of its venue and onto the shelves and music streams around the world. The 2016 Ushuaїa Ibiza compilation album will be on sale from 1st July, with ANTS following 15th July.

The agreement sees WMG take a leap forward in the electronic music scene, a genre in which the company has been increasingly active and successful over the past decade. Home to established artists such as David Guetta, Skrillex, Robin Schulz and Kaskade, the US-based record company has also signed signature acts including Galantis, Cash-Cash, Moguai, Matoma and Disciples. WMG’s collection of record labels connects Atlantic, Big Beat Records, ffrr, One More Tune and Parlophone among others, to an international, multi-genre network, making the company a powerful partner for the global brand that is Ushuaїa Ibiza.

Founded in 2011 with a mandate to bring the most acclaimed DJs to its poolside paradise, Ushuaïa Ibiza has attracted thousands of travellers to Ibiza and is firmly placed on the island’s must-visit music circuit. Every season, the hotel-meets-music-venue serves up a weekly roster of residencies that make it the go-to place for party-goers, with David Guetta, Avicii, Axwell & Ingrosso, Steve Aoki, Tinie Tempah, Kygo, Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens and Hardwell among the headliners for its sixth season.

Yann Pissenem and Bart Cools met to conclude the deal at the International Music Summit in Ibiza in May 2016, where they both also gave keynote speeches on the state of the industry.

While Yann Pissenem has played a crucial role in global nightlife over the past 16 years, lining up success after success with seminal venues such as Ushuaïa Ibiza and the ANTS brand, Bart Cools was instrumental in the integration of the Parlophone Dance division into WMG. In addition, he has grown Warner Music’s presence in the EDM scene by concentrating on the nurturing of global superstars, while making the strengthening of their local repertoire a top priority.
